Rockin The Suburbs

Well, my life sucks. I'm just recovering from a 3 day food poisoning dose...one of the days was my day off too...

My job pays fuck all, and after rent, tax, food, and busfare I get about 30 quid to myself...most of which is spent on cigarettes and beer...

So yeah, I'm looking for a new job.

Anyways, Woods For The Trees is still going (barely) and I'm going to push my boss for either more money or more time off because the hours I'm doing seriously isn't worth the money I'm getting for it.

Other than that, my life is pretty dull.

Oh, and has anyone else noticed that Ben Folds COMPLETLY changed the lyrics for "Rockin The Suburbs" when they used it on Over The Hedge?

Then again, the lyric "You'd better watch out because I'm going to say FUCK!" probably wouldn't have gone down well on a PG...

I did notice that, yeah. I only started listening to Ben Folds after watching Over the Hedge, so you can imagine my surprise at "IT GETS ME REAL PISSED OFF AND IT MAKES ME WANNA SAY FUUUUUUCK."

I like the album version better though. :D

Also, good luck with getting things sorted out at your job (or just finding a new one).

Life does sort of suck right now.

I don't know how much a quid is worth in your country, but you really shouldn't be wasting it on beer and cigs. man.

Invest. Seriously.

A quid is a pound, which I think is worth about two US dollars. And the beer and cigs are pretty much my only way of surviving the world. That and coffee.

I know it seems dumb, and I'm looking for something else, but for the moment alcohol and nicotine are the only things that take the edge off of life.

I love the album version, as I've had it ever since I saw the video for it on MTV2 when it was first released, but the Over The Hedge version has William Shatner on it dude! :D

Yeah, I've been a Gaunt's Ghosts fan for years, ever since the first book came out. I was an IG player at the time and it inspired me to write my own "fluff novel" on my own IG unit. However, seven years and 60,000 words later and I'm still no closer to being published and working for Games Workshop :D

Never seen that film, so never heard the song. I imagine it's pretty good though.
Sorry to hear about the food poisoning...I'm currently trying to get a job myself, but after reading this, maybe I shouldn't bother, if I'm gonna get virtually robbed in broad daylight, coz that's what happening to you right there.:(

At the time I did not have enough money to get more Gaunt's Ghosts novels, and this one is quite interesting for a Commissar. The typical one would just shoot his own men, this one apparently doesn't!
